Director of Agile Development

 

Are you an experience Director level candidate with experience in Agile development methodology? We are seeking a Director of Agile development responsible for managing agile studio team members and guiding the technical direction of the products produced by those studios. Primary responsibilities include supervising and mentoring the agile studio team members. Creating and enforcing development and testing policies and procedures.  Works with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to ensure the agile teams have the needed resources and tools to be successful. 

 

We are looking for candidates who can excel at the following:

 

  • Act as a stakeholder for the products being developed by the agile studios. 
  • Participates in the budget process for his or her area of the business.
  • Ensures adherence to the budget by monitoring expenditures and forecasting monthly.
  • Prepares weekly goals; reports progress to manager on a weekly basis; advises manager of problems that may affect overall schedule and goals as they occur.
  • Analyzes and reviews development processes to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new processes.
  • Analyzes and reviews development tools to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new processes.
  • Creates and ensures adherence to the development policy and procedures.
  • Participates with the team in brainstorming and design sessions.
  • Mentors and manages members of the agile studios.
  • Participates with the team to review software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Provides assistance and routine consultation to agile studios in the development of systems and software.
  • Acts as a facilitator to the agile studios by working the Scrum Master to remove impediments.
  • Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution.

Technical and Educational Requirements:

 

Education:  Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in software development, personnel management, and knowledge of software documentation, utilities and job control languages.

Experience:  Eight to ten years of software development experience. Experience reviewing requirements and developing designs from them. Three or more years of management experience with technical/programming staff.

 

Skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software development and agile software development processes.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Innovative thinking in problem solving. 
  • Ability to identify ways to optimize processes and develop assets. Experience with resource allocation and utilization. Exceptional communication and customer service skills.   
  • Solid development experience in all aspects of software programming, using generally accepted tools and techniques
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Must have strong management skills in the areas of performance management, employee engagement and talent development.
  • Must have strong communication skills, able to work independently and be team oriented.
